An excellent hotel and a lovely location. However make sure you have good walking shoes or motorised transport as it is a steep walk to the top of the hill where the hotel is situated

The one thing that really stands out as missing from this hotel is a swimming pool, there is a fantastic terrace and lots of grounds around the hotel but no pool and it would be perfect.
However, that aside, the rooms were fantastic, lots of lovely freebies in the bathroom, and a really good and proper sized bath which was much appreciated.

The location above Girona is wonderful, the views are breathtaking. A special hotel with friendly, English-speaking staff. Highly recommended.

Take time to explore old town Girona on foot. It's worth it.

Visit Barcellona. One hour and 15 mins by train. Visit the Cathedral and the jewish quater in Girona. Food is good and cheap.

You need to be prepared to walk around Girona because there's lots of pedestrian-friendly streets and lots of shops in the relatively compact centre, and if you can do that, the hill to the hotel shouldn't put you off. If you are happy to wander and then sit on a terrace for a while in the sun, you may find enough to do in Girona to keep you there for a couple of days.

When you run out of things to do, take a 25 minute train ride north to Figueras to see the Salvador Dali museum/gallery. Don't miss the jewelry - there's a seperate entrance.
